HyperSports - Get Fit Run
Its been a good day for running, HyperSports' first running event has been a success! It was held at Quirino Grandstand, Manila. Sadly, I wasn't been able to register for this event, and decided to help some friends as a support crew or something like that. And I am glad to share to you what were their experiences in this race, for most of the information about the race was from the runners themselves. The stretching for each category was full of energy and fun, they had a mascot to kick-start the exercises. Route was mostly flat, there were some sponge and banana stations, sufficient medic support. The medic crew seem to somewhat notify the other crew for injuries. Those injured were well taken care of, providing some quick first aid massage in a station around the premises.
All seem well until the sun came out and started to devoid the runners of energy. There was a hydration station which packed up early, it seems that they had ran out of water and the water provided wasn't cold. There were some markers which were not deployed on the road and left hanging at the back of the stage.
I am not sure of what I have heard, but I think, once again, the Kenyan Irene(male) got the top spot for 21k, let us wait for the official results. The best Filipino runner bagged second place for 5k, only a few seconds behind the first Kenyan.
The event was a success and kudos to HyperSports for organizing an event! I wish there would be more to come and expect us to join once more.
