Event was very successful marshals were deployed everywhere, there was ample hydration. For every 1-1.5 kilometer there was a hydration station and some hydration stations which were stationed at the mid section of the course were ion drinks. Medics at start/finish and halfway the 14 kilometer route. Mobile marshals kept patrolling on the course and stationary marshals directed cheered the runners.
I wasn't at my best shape in this run, i got easily tired pushed myself to run at the early phase of the course, gained momentum at Buendia Ave. and started to run at my normal pace. I finished strongly at 1:22:36, I set a new personal record. After the race, I felt a short but light pain on my right knee, I got injured, maybe due to the early exertion of effort to start the race. I just stretched it for some time to ease and remove the pain.
Camp Run 2012 (10 km) - Series 1 was next on queue, it was held at Camp General Emilio Aguilando. I got a little bit lost while heading the the event since I was not familiar with the place and how to get to the grounds. It was raining with some lightning storms, the organizers delayed the gun-start for 30 minutes until the rain became manageable. Most of the runners were soldiers from the Philippine Army there were a few civilian runners and I was one of them.
About 500 meters into the race, i felt my knee there was a short stabbing pain. It was tolerable, I did want to worsen the pain and so i continued to run but in a slow pace, runners passed by me and later on I was one of the last runners. It was disheartening but I need to continue, I maintained my slow pace until I reached the 5 kilometer mark and started walking. The "light" injury had taken its toll, it worsen making me walk a few meters before going back to running. I switched from walking to running about every 500 meters since the pain was making me very uncomfortable while running.
At the 8 kilometer mark, I tried to get back up and running at my regular pace, but only to run a few hundred meters then walk again. I tried to jog at a slow pace enduring the pain because I want to finish the race strong. I finished the race about 1:20, even though it took me that long I am thankful that I completed the race.
